🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Voice Displeasure Regarding Size Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The popular resale platform has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Response Countless users and merchants are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. The platform stated the new system was more in line with other platforms. It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Modifications Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Stories A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she said. Required Changes A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Service Background The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
